Kolisi Foundation Announces new Partnership with the Qatar Airways Cup 2024

Cape Town, June 21, 2024 – The Kolisi Foundation is thrilled to announce its partnership with the latest edition of the Qatar Airways Cup.

The second staging of the Qatar Airways Cup brings together a mouth-watering clash between South Africa and Wales at Twickenham on June 22nd, and the Kolisi Foundation is delighted to be named as the social impact partner for the game.

With World Cup winning Springbok skipper Siya Kolisi and his wife Rachel in attendance, they remain steadfast in their determination to use their profile for good, and this partnership will help further their aim of addressing the deep-seated inequalities that exist in South Africa by raising funds for, and increasing awareness of the work of the foundation.

When the back-to-back World Champions enter the arena in London they will be roared on by a near capacity crowd, including both Siya and Rachel, who will not only get the chance to encourage their heroes on the field, but will also learn about the work being done off it to try and make a positive difference to so many lives back in South Africa.

CEO Rachel Kolisi added: “From the moment the Kolisi Foundation was conceived ahead of the 2019 World Cup final, our ambition has been to make the most of our positions alongside meaningful corporate partners such as the Qatar Airways Cup to create sustainable awareness and funding to address critical issues in South Africa.

“Our dream is to provide more opportunities for our youth to realise that wherever they live, in the suburbs or under-resourced communities, they can be anyone they want to be.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Qatar Airways Cup for this special match between South Africa and Wales, knowing that our work towards changing stories of inequality will move a step closer.”

The Kolisi Foundation is driven by the example set by both Siya and Rachel, who believe that every small act of change matters and by focusing on areas such as Education and Sport, Food Security and Gender-Based violence, they can help make a real difference in the lives of those who need their support the most.

And fans will not only get to enjoy the world-class rugby on show, but they will be able to find out more about the Foundation and its work during the match thanks to innovative in-ground videos and announcements throughout.
